Why chose a silver gelatin print over the simplicity of a digital or giclée print? Our answer comes down to materiality and the hand.

Silver Gelatin papers are robust and offer a depth of tone that is only nearly replicated in giclée printing. Silver gelatin printing is the close study of a given negative and the physical manipulation of its transmission of light to paper. A silver gelatin printer responds to the character of an image and takes any aesthetic instruction from the photographer to produce a desired print.

We run a Durst Laborator 1200 enlarger, which can produce prints ranging in scale from 5X7 to 40X50 inch! We can support all film formats except 8X10. The papers we stock are Ilford Resin Coated Pearl, Resin Coated Gloss, Fibre Based Matt, and Fibre Based Gloss. However, we can order in specialty papers upon request.

We offer giclée (digital inkjet) printing too! We are able to print as large as A2 in the width. The papers we stock are from Hahnemühle and EPSON, and we use EPSON Ultrachrome Inks, which combines to offer a wide range of finishes and archival longevity for your digital prints.

For giclée prints, please ensure your files are at size, set at 300 dpi resolution, and saved as tiff’s or jpg’s. Our colour space is Adobe RGB 1998.

You can wetransfer us your digital files to gelatinprint@gmail.com. Be sure to include contact details in the message section in case we need to be in touch with any questions.
